Alexandra Maciá

Alexandra Maciá is a multidisciplinary artist from Granada based in Berlin. Her practice explores the intersection of sound and image through experimental music, drawing from a background in film and photography developed over the past 15 years.

Using modular synthesizers, electromagnetic sources, analogue audiovisual processes, and DIY or modified hardware, she creates layered compositions and psycho-audiovisual environments that are immersive, unstable, and texturally dense. Her work often incorporates signals captured from televisions, cameras, oscilloscopes, and field recordings, generating raw sonic landscapes that blur the boundaries between noise, perception, and altered sensory experience.

Her organizing effort focus on autonomous DIY spaces, archives, and collaborative showcase events that support experimental noise, electronic subcultures, and marginalized artists, like fem*noise, Critical Noise or the Sonic FLINTA archives an archiving initiative to record, document, and preserve the experimental sonic output of female, trans, intersex, and non-binary artists operating inside Berlin’s precarious sub-underground music community.

Maciá is also an active member of Phallucipher, E-09, and Bio Glitch, collaborates with the project p o e s i . f y s i k, and is co-founder of Vortex Era.
