Residencies at ausland - General

ausland offers residencies for performing arts and dance. We provide space and time to collect material, make technical and other experiments and develop a piece. Since 2010 nthere have over a 100 residencies taken place at ausland.

At the end of a residency artists share their (intermediate) results in front of a small audience at ausland. The format of this presentation is to be decided by the artist. We address all artists and cultural workers, Focusing on groups and individuals who have been and are still excluded from funding due to (multiple) discrimination. The focus of our residency is on an inclusive and diverse casting. We welcome projects that engage with the world in a courageous, awake, consistent, persistent and queerfeminist way.

We always offer the space, technical equipment, technical help and an outside eye. We apply for funding to support the artists financially during the residencies. In the case of funding we publish a residency open call, and summon a jury.

The ausland residency program has been funded by Berliner Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalt, in the frame of Pilotprojekt Residenzförderung Tanz and in the frame of Spartenoffene Förderung.
