An inviting intersection of Avant-pop, electronica and Anatolian melodies narrated by an alluring and moving voice. ILÆY puts together various cultural influences in her dramatic aural stew and her densely layered music. Born and raised in Istanbul, Berlin-based Baglama artist Barish experiments with Anatolian microtonal melodies through a contemporary approach, aiming to showcase how the rich atmosphere of Anatolia can be blended with Mediterranean sounds, all while drawing from Berlin’s translocal and innovative perspective.

Born and raised in Istanbul, Berlin-based Baglama artist Barish experiments with Anatolian microtonal melodies through a contemporary approach, aiming to showcase how the rich atmosphere of Anatolia can be blended with Mediterranean sounds, all while drawing from Berlin’s translocal and innovative perspective. In addition to his solo work, after his previous project “Istanbul Ghetto Club,” barish is currently continuing his concerts with his band “Kara Delik”.
ILÆY is an eclectic artist who is equally at home as a singer, songwriter, producer, actor, and voice-over artist. Hailing from Istanbul and after calling Prague home for almost a decade, she's now based in Berlin.
Growing up in Istanbul, Ankara and Prague’s vibrant music scenes, ILÆY’s music is an inviting intersection of moving Anatolian melodies with Avant-pop and Electronica narrated by an alluring and hypnotizing voice.
Over the years, she has graced stages at festivals across the globe, including the legendary Glastonbury Festival, Sziget Festival, Karneval Der Kulturen Berlin, Kansai Music Conference Japan, and Istanbul Jazz Festival.
ILÆY's music draws inspiration from a wide array of sources, weaving together elements of alternative pop, electronic, and Turkish music to create a sound that is truly unique and distinctive. Her music is characterized by its focus on emotional vulnerability and a fearless exploration of sound and structure, resulting in a style that is both accessible and challenging, appealing to a diverse audience.
ILÆY is currently preparing for the release of her highly-anticipated debut album. It is a deep exploration of the concept of identity and the ways in which it manifests through music. The album promises to be a compelling and thought-provoking addition to ILÆY's growing body of work.
