Miriam Schickler
is a cultural practitioner working at the intersection of sound, research and education. She studied social and cultural anthropology in London and Berlin. Her research and teaching focuses on auditory culture and the production of knowledge through sound and listening, as well as how these processes are intertwined with power. Her artistic practice originated and developed within activist and queer-feminist collective contexts and continues to be based on collaboration with others. This collaborative approach aims to create new forms of knowledge grounded in a multitude of experiences and practices. The resulting works primarily explore the connection between different spatio-temporal realities and seek to highlight often overlooked or silenced historical entanglements. Between 2016 and 2020, she co-founded and helped develop the *foundationClass at weißensee academy of art berlin. Since 2021 she works as an artistic associate at Kunsthochschule Kassel.
