The target is composed of curves, wind and water. The image of layers of sedimentation left by water in the sand that allows one to differ different materials, times, and tides. Geological layers. Strata. Shades of beige, brown, grey and black brings the feeling of absence of color as if it was an old picture. Stone. Sand. Water. The space contains water. I can only see it from very, very close. I cannot open my perspective. It is as if I can only see it with one eye. It is not warm or cold. It is bright but there is no clear source of light. The sky feels low.
– Remote Viewing Report / Second Occupation of San Juan Mountains, 1861
Imagining a place as a state – undoing the image and revealing the feeling. Viewing a landscape remotely. We open an invitation to an embodied listening that seeps across temporalities and terrain, that finds ways of being in turbulent landscapes, to relocate soundings of place back to the body.
Over the last 3 years, G has been sending C & C targets. Targets are PLACES or EVENTS with coordinates, they are past, present, future in their timescales. C & C practice remote viewing, a practice of seeing or sensing without presence, and compile reports on the given targets. For Taking Things Apart, the 3 come together through a process of revealing – revisiting texts, places and states that the reports have unfolded during this time, sharing remote resonances of how a pseudo science allows us to imagine with a non-image.
