Resitant

Resitant

At the age of 15, I founded my first band, “Get out Josephine,” in southern Burgenland (Austria). We explored feminism and guitar music and were the only riot grrrl band in Austria at the time.

At the age of 19, I moved to Berlin and worked on the project “Resitant,” recording my first EP with the rapper “Donato ParaVox.” I took a break from ‘Resitant’ and founded the band “Deffective Blankets,” a mixture of Wiener Lied, punk, and hip hop. This was followed by the noise pop band „Miasmatrix“ with Ann Antidote.

I also developed a techno/wave project called „Technische Störungen“ together with „4Cantons“. For the past
three years, I have been working on the solo project „Resitant“ again, collaborating with other musicians. With “Resitant,” I process the various musical directions I have explored since I started making music. I deal with topics such as queer feminism, work and society, I question power structures inside and outside the music scene, and I mix serious topics
with humor. I work mainly with synthesizers and field recordings and am currently exploring modular synthesis. My productions are experimental and conceptual and I relate the different themes in the songs to places, social space, and social developments.

Her stories stir us up
rock us unnoticed to sleep
Loud laughter pulls us out...
she holds our cards in her hand
Resitant is our aunt.
