Yannis Karalis

Yannis Karalis is a Berlin-based dancer, performer, and choreographer from Grevena, Greece. Trained in Athens at the National School of Dance and the TIP School for Dance, Improvisation and Performance, he has worked internationally since 2011 with artists and companies including Toula Limnaios, Nature Theater of Oklahoma, and Zufit Simon. His artistic practice explores identity, gender expression, shame, and queerness through the intersection of dance and theatrical performance. His recent works include POWER SHAME (2022), a solo performance examining shame as a personal and social force, and FOLK, an ongoing research project on collective shame.
