Hoyah has been building music studios and engineering for a long time. He is a multidisciplinary sound artist, engineer and technician who has worked on a wide variety of projects, from designing sound for live performance and installation, to live engineering at venues from Volksbühne to the Barbican. His work as a sound artist focuses on recording and archiving folk musics — last year he travelled to Bukhara in Uzbekistan to take part in a project for the Bukhara Biennial, working alongside folk musicians from the region. More recently he has been working on A Land Speaks to me of Something Shared, presented in Frankfurt, Berlin (2025), Cologne (2026) for which he handled full sound design, production and performance. As a musician and sound designer, Hoyah has collaborated with artists such as Jungle, Maxi Jazz, Young Fathers, Alexander Baczynski-Jenkins, and others. He has worked in venues such as the Science Museum (London), Alexandra Palace (London), Volksbühne (Berlin), Berghain (Berlin), Sophiensaele (Berlin), Barbican (London) amongst others.
